Dr. Romie Mushtaq, MD has nearly 20 years of authority in neurology, integrative medicine, and mindfulness, and is a leading physician on a mission to transform the brain health of companies, leaders, and organizations.

Her unique expertise is routinely featured in national media such as Forbes, NBC, Fox Business, NPR, TED talks, and dozens of other national media outlets. She is one of the first physicians appointed Chief Wellness Officers for a corporation- Evolution Hospitality, steering the mindfulness and wellness initiatives of over 6000 employees & hosts their podcast Wellness Evolved.

If your personality doesn’t arrive until you’ve had coffee, and you find your mind racing when it is time to sleep, you want to listen to this interview! In our time together Dr. Romie explains the neuroscience behind toxic environments, the stress/success cycle and the creation of a busy brain. She shared her Brain SHIFT protocol to get to the root of your anxiety, sleeplessness and food issues and explains that if you do it right – you will see an increase in intimacy and sex with your partner.

She is currently working on her first book, “The Busy Brain Cure.” When Dr. Romie hits the pause button in her life, she meditates, spends time traveling, & believes dark chocolate is her medicine. I love Dr. Romie’s admonishment that our minds are strong medicine. Take her advice and get started with that digital detox, brain dump writing and 5 minutes of meditation. More sex. Less anxiety. Talk about gold.

Gold With Jeanette Schneider Episode 29: The Accidental Adventurer with Norma Bastidas

Norma Bastidas is a single-mother, a survivor of sexual violence and human trafficking. An ultra athlete, she broke the Guinness World Record for Longest Triathlon after swimming, biking, and running 3,762 miles from Cancun, Mexico to Washington, D.C., a known human trafficking route. She views athletic feats as metaphors for the incredible trials faced every day by the survivors of sexual violence. Norma’s mission is to educate and empower, demonstrating to the world that one’s past does not dictate one’s future, and prove that everyday people are capable of making extraordinary strides in the fight against the problems facing the world today.

Norma talks about her son, who lost his vision very quickly due to a degenerative disease, facing her past, and advocating for self and others through running. We also dig into mental health and why it is so important that we normalize the conversation around mental illness diagnosis, end the stigma and unfortunate labels.

The woman is strength, grit and determination. I love her reminder that no matter how tough things get.. it will be ok and that you are not your circumstances. Your identity is not what happened to you.

You can join Norma and I live at EmpowerCon at the LA Convention Center on August 31st. Information is on IG @empowercon2019 and don’t forget to follow Norma on IG @ultrarunwild.

In all her work, Rosie teaches and practices RADICAL LOVE and uses this as a guiding force to overcome adversity. So many people ask me about my yoga and meditation practice and I think this episode will shed some light into the beauty of both and how to approach what may seem scary if you haven’t gotten the spirit just yet!
I love Rosie’s passion for her practice and her desire to lead the way for others because of her own personal experience. Yoga and meditation has changed lives and I hope you take some great tips or even the whisperings to begin your own practice if you haven’t already. If you have, take the pressure off your shoulders when you don’t feel like it is going well, and feel the blessings in the in-between. It is outside of meditation that you find its benefits.

You can find Rosie on IG @rosieacosta and at her website www.radicallyloved.com

Rosie and I talk about doing deep work to uncover your messaging which is the cardinal point of my new book LORE: Harnessing Your Past to Create Your Future. Get into the work with me. LORE is available now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.com.
