Gold With Jeanette Schneider Episode 22: Yoga + Meditation > Anxiety with Rosie Acosta

Rosie Acosta is a Yoga & Meditation Teacher and a Teacher Trainer. She is an expert at helping her students cultivate a life of mindfulness, presence, and intention. An East Los Angeles Native, troubled teen who suffered from depression, anxiety, and overeating and turned her life around with Yoga + Meditation.

Rosie, a Certified Nutritionist + Life Coach and Founder of Radically Loved Yoga Health and Wellness, she has used her expertise to work with NFL Champions, NBA All-Stars, Olympic Athletes, as well as students in her community and as a volunteer with At Risk Youth and Afghanistan Veterans.

In all her work, Rosie teaches and practices RADICAL LOVE and uses this as a guiding force to overcome adversity. Through yoga, healthy lifestyle choices, mantra, and self-inquiry she aspires to help others find their unique gifts and fire within, she creates practices for her students and connects with people in a way that helps her students live radically loved lives. Her articles can be found in Mantra magazine, MindBodyGreen, FOX News Latino, Pop Sugar Fitness, Well+Good, and Evolve Fit Wear. She can be found teaching yoga and coaching workshops around the country as well as leading international teacher trainings. Rosie is also a proud ambassador for Yoga Journal, City Silence, Manduka, and Living Yoga.

So many people ask me about my yoga and meditation practice and I think this episode will shed some light into the beauty of both and how to approach what may seem scary if you haven’t gotten the spirit just yet!
I love Rosie’s passion for her practice and her desire to lead the way for others because of her own personal experience. Yoga and meditation has changed lives and I hope you take some great tips or even the whisperings to begin your own practice if you haven’t already. If you have, take the pressure off your shoulders when you don’t feel like it is going well, and feel the blessings in the in-between. It is outside of meditation that you find its benefits.

Gold With Jeanette Schneider Episode 21: One Starfish At A Time: Mental Health and Anxiety with Elizabeth Scrivner

Elizabeth lost her stepson to mental health issues as an adult and was later moved to advocate for suicide prevention and mental health. She spent the last year of her life on a mission to bring awareness and conversation to this issue as a proud advocate. Elizabeth talks about the layers of grief and her own “grief space” as well as the conversations we need to have with not only our friends and relatives, but the children in our lives who are on the front lines.

As a licensed professional counselor for over 20 years, Elizabeth is committed to changing the stigma that therapy is for crazy people, even if it is one person at a time. She is the CEO of Park Cities Counseling, recently appeared on the hit Bravo show, The Real Housewives of Dallas, where she is a therapist to one of the housewives, and is considered #americastherapist on both national radio and television around the country. She offers Concierge Counseling using FaceTime, phone sessions, personal travel coaching and counseling in home, or during travel by plane or longer car trips allows flexibility to her clients without disrupting their already busy schedules.

Elizabeth talks through ways in which we can review our values, our ways of relating and treating those we love, and digs deep into anxiety.

I love Elizabeth’s honesty, her faith and her desire to help move mental health into mainstream conversation.

Gold With Jeanette Schneider Episode 20: Finding Perspective with Aalia Lanius

Finding Perspective with Aalia Lanius

Aalia Lanius is a hard woman to describe and in the best way possible. It was tough to decide what subject to cover in our time together on Gold and you will see why. What came of our time together was the theme of perspective in all manner of ways. She is a 3x cancer survivor, writes books to change minds and hearts and lives with chronic illness and a resiliency that is unwavering and inspirational.

Aalia is the founder of Unsugarcoated Media, an American novelist, business leadership coach, inspirational speaker and advocate. As an American Muslim with a German and Mediterranean background, Aalia is fully aware of the conflicting psyche living in America.  Her first novel, Tough Love, in 2018, began a journey of authoring fiction that strikes at social issues. In it she shatters the belief that women should sacrifice themselves for love, and hits on an undercurrent of domestic violence. In her second novel, Jugend, she felt pulled to empower under-represented groups in society by directly challenging hateful rhetoric and racism through a beautiful story of two men throughout time.

Aalia resides with her husband, Hollywood Film Attorney and Executive Producer, Joseph Lanius, and is a mother of four.

I can’t even tell you how valuable this conversation is to me personally. Aalia is all heart and I am thrilled she is on this earth to share her story and her call to find perspective in all things.

You can find Aalia on IG @aalia_unsugarcoated or her website unsugarcoatedmedia.com
