My daughter Olivia, joins me to discuss the confusing landscape of complex emotions, boundaries and confidence.
Olivia named LOVE IS VIRAL, would like to be a scientist and child author, recently skipped 3rd grade, and is equal parts logic and soul. This episode was spurred by a deep conversation had about the confusing intersection of happy and sad and her literal question, “Mom, can you explain this new emotion to me?”
Welcome to my world.
I adore Olivia’s personal mission and hope that she brings a little light into your day.

Travis is the Vice President of Administration for a FinTech organization and oversees their overall community and philanthropic initiatives. Travis just wrapped his term as President of Trustees for The Shade Tree Shelter and serves Noah’s Animal House, Executive Pride, The Mark E. Curry Family Foundation, The Smith Center, FanFare! And Club Curry.

In this episode we talk about the life of an Adult Child of an Alcoholic (ACOA) and how those relationships either spur you to a life of intention or create cycles that have to be broken, and some really tough love advice he received from Sirius XM’s Dr. Laura. This is a heavy conversation, but so necessary for those with family members who experience addiction.
I hope this episode gives you a little insight into the mind of an ACOA and their perpetual heartbreak, whether it is you or someone you love.
If it is you – I see you. I hope you find some comfort in the advice offered to learn how to take care of yourself, create boundaries and drop expectations. Wrap yourself up in the love, life and family you create.
It has taken me decades to find my own truth after a life lived in the shadow of a severely addicted parent. If you’d like to dig in to the work I walk you step by step through the process in my book LORE: Harnessing Your Past to Create Your Future on Amazon or barnesandnoble.com.

Welcome to Gold with Jeanette Schneider. Nuggets of inspiration for a bigger, badder life. Each week we share wisdom, insights and gold from those living their best lives.
My pilot episode is with Dr. Melanie Ross Mills, Life Strategist, Relationship & Friendship Expert, and licensed Temperament Therapist.
Dr. Mel was in Las Vegas so we sat down in the sound studios at The Space LV to talk relationships in all their forms – partners, family or friends. We dug deep into conflict and intimacy, hashed out the difference between emotional vulnerability v emotional availability and talked love, significance and security. Dr. Mel shared her thoughts on relationships where one partner is growing and the other is not and we agreed purposeful relationships are where it is at.
Dr. Mel is also the host of the Life Bonds™ iTunes Podcast, authors Life Bonds™ Books (The Friendship Bond, The Identity Bond, and The Couples Bond), and Life Bonds™ Workshops. She has partnered with companies like Clinique® and Bank of America and is described as FOX News Radio’s “go-to” Relationship Expert.
